ENGLAND & WALESThe UK has an extraordinary variety of landscapes, from rugged mountains and dramatic coastlines to rolling countryside, woodland and quieter rural scenes. Changing weather and light can completely transform these places, often creating the conditions that make landscape photography so rewarding.
My UK landscape photography has taken me to locations across England and Wales, including the mountains and lakes of the Lake District, the rolling countryside of Nidderdale and the dramatic landscapes of the Brecon Beacons, alongside places encountered closer to home and while travelling around the country.
I’m particularly drawn to atmosphere and changing conditions — early morning mist, dramatic skies, winter weather and those brief moments of light that can turn an already beautiful landscape into something quite different.
Scotland has played a particularly significant part in my landscape photography over the years. With such a large and distinctive collection of images from its mountains, glens and lochs, I’ve given Scotland its own dedicated landscape gallery.
The gallery below brings together some of my favourite landscape images from across England and Wales, photographed over a number of years and through a variety of seasons and conditions.
