Earlier in the year having seen a number of pictures of Short Eared Owl’s on social media I managed to find a reliable location to go and photograph the stunning birds myself. I have always been fascinated by owls of any kind and seeing the shorties this year was a first for me.
The location was 3-4 hour round trip for me to East Sussex so each time I went had an air of nervousness – what if they aren’t there..? In total I visited 4 or 5 times and on the last visit I made it was clear they had left on their long journey home but I still have a wonderful selection of images and I’m looking forward to their return hopefully at the end of the year to expand on my portfolio.
