RURAL BRITAIN

Rural Farming

Much of this gallery was photographed in and around Nidderdale and the North York Moors, where farming is an integral part of the landscape. These exposed uplands can be harsh places, particularly through the colder months, and the livestock that live there are very much shaped by their environment.

Sheep and their lambs on the moors, cattle grazing farmland and other encounters from across the British countryside make up this collection. For me, the animals are as much a part of the character of these landscapes as the dry-stone walls, open hills and changing weather.
